Everyone says I should blog...

I tell this to my coach and he says, "Start a blog and say just that." Then I tell him I just don't feel like becoming a blogger... seems to me it is a public pulpit for people who want to say something...anything...even if no one is paying attention....beside, I lament, it screams of "opinionism" to me (this is a word I coined in my new book for the American trend of expressing an opinion of just about anything...a favorite pasttime of cable TV anchors, radio talk show hosts, webcasters of all sorts and, now, just about everybody else! "I opine therefore I am."
My coach says, "Then say that!"
I hate it...but he's my coach and I now have homework. So I'm starting "the unblog." And now, I've said that.

What if a guy started a blog and no one knew it...or, worse yet, no one cared? I'm wondering if anyone wants to engage about blogging..or is it really just another form of "opinionism"...like standing on a soapbox in the park, going on and on while people walk by ignoring you?
My coach says, keep plugging away...even though no one else is here. So, being an obedient coachee, here goes:
What if you gave a party and nobody came...this is how I feel doing this. So I'm talking to myself, which isn't a bad metaphor for what many people are doing in the world today, at least in the U.S. ....so busy thinking of what they want to say next they aren't listening to anyone else. So no one is listening to anyone? Then, it doesn't matter is anyone is here on my blog.
I've moved to http://www.writingup.com/blog/johnrenesch. I won't be posting any new posts to this blob...or rather unblog.
